1. Hanoi
Stay
About the destination: Hanoi, príomhchathair Vietnam, agus an dara cathair is mó sa tír freisin, is ea ceann de na cathracha is draíochtúla in Áise le carachtar uathúil. Tá rian fágtha ag blianta de ghabháil eachtrach ar an gcathair seo mar a léirítear sna músaemanna suimiúla, na foirgnimh stairiúla, na pagodas, an mausoleum, agus a cheantar Francach féin a thugann atmaisféar an-dhifriúil don chathair. Is é an bealach is fearr chun Hanoi a aithint ná ag siúl timpeall. Níl an lár stairiúil rófhairsing, tá go leor áiteanna le cuairt a thabhairt orthu ann nó sna timpeallachtaí láithreach, agus is é an siúlóid an bealach is fearr chun teagmháil a dhéanamh le muintir chairdiúil Hanoi. Tá Hanoi ar aithint mar chathair na lochanna mar tá go leor lochanna agus crainn timpeall ar an gcathair, an ceann is mó ná an Loch Thiar, Ho Tay, agus an ceann is cáiliúla sa lár cathrach ná Loch an Chlaidhimh Athchóirithe, Ho Hoan Kiem. An rud álainn faoi Hanoi ná na codarsnachtaí suimiúla ailtireachta, ó na seanfhoirgnimh traidisiúnta sa Cheantar Sean go dtí na foirgnimh ollmhóra stíle Eorpach sa Cheantar Francach go dtí na séadchomharthaí Coiméadaí ag Mausoleum Ho Chi Minh agus na ceantair máguaird, gan trácht ar an ailtireacht traidisiúnta álainn a bhaineann lena teampall, mar shampla an Pagoda Quan Su. Is cathair síochánta agus gniomhach í Hanoi, ag borbairt le beatha sráide agus margadh exótaigh ach síochánta timpeall na pagodas agus na dteampall ciúin. Is í Cathair an Dragan Ardaithe an áit le bheith i Vietnam.

2. Ho Chi Minh (Saigon)
Stop
About the destination: Ho Chi Minh City, previously known as Saigon, is the biggest city in Vietnam. It's a modern, vibrant and bustling city. It's economically active, brimming with lively markets and it's without a doubt the nation’s commercial hub. Despite being the country’s most modern city by a long shot, it maintains a unique Vietnamese character and you can still see traces of a grand Colonial past in this former gem of the east. In the heart of the city, which locals still fondly call Saigon, you'll find some of the city’s main attractions such as the Opera house, railway station, Notre Dame cathedral, Reunification Palace, the Saigon river and the Markets. To take a break from the city, you can take a tour to the Mekong Delta or to Da Lat, if you have more time. Da Lat, situated in the highlands about 300km from the city is worth the journey as there's plenty to see and do including waterfalls, gardens, the old French Quarter and the local restaurants which serve fantastic local food. The commercial and financial centre of Vietnam is an exciting and intriguing sprawling metropolis that does its best to preserve the way of life and culture of this magnificent country.

5. Phu Quoc
Stay
About the destination: To the South of Vietnam, halfway between Vietnam and Cambodia, we find the Island of Phu Quoc (Phu Quoc Vietnamese). Phu Quoc Island, situated in the Gulf of Thailand, is the largest island in Vietnam, but its main tourist attractions are the white sandy beaches and crystal clear waters, making Phu Quoc Island a favourite for newlywed Vietnamese couples on their honeymoon. The Phu Quoc island in Vietnam is also known as Dao Ngoc and in Cambodia as Koh Tral. Phu Quoc island is 50 km long and 22 km wide and is home to 85,000 people. The capital of Phu Quoc island is Duong Dong (Dương Đong), located on the northwest side of the island. The other city on the island is called An Thoi (An Thới), located at the southern end (see Map of Phu Quoc). The average temperature on Phu Quoc Island is 28 º C, with the warmest period between April and May, where it can reach 35 º C. Phu Quoc is a natural area with great biodiversity (a UNESCO heritage site since 2006), making this island the perfect place for snorkelling. Almost all the tourist attractions and points of interest in Phu Quoc are in the capital, Duong Dong. Highlights include the Duong Dong lighthouse, a recommended spot for taking photos, Duong Dong market and the pagodas, scattered throughout the island. However, the main attraction of Phu Quoc Island is its white sand beaches. In Duong Dong, there's a beautiful beach, but if you prefer somewhere a bit quieter, you can choose any of the beaches located a little northwest of Duong Dong or a couple of miles south of the city. The rest of Phu Quoc's beaches are in the Southeast, near the town of An Thoi, with the best of them all being (Bãi Sao) Bai Sao beach. View Map of Phu Quoc. One option we recommend is to take a boat and visit any of the adjacent islands, such as Hon Mong Tay Island. One of the best beaches in all of Phu Quoc is called A beach or English Fingernail Beach, but it is located on Hon Mong Tay Island (Hòn Móng Tay), about 10 kilometers south of Phu Quoc.
